Camera, Local Storage & Media Processing Notice The core functionality of OpticAssist requires access to Your Device's camera to capture images for visual assistance. The Company does not store, view, or transmit Your camera feed, captured images, or local files to external servers. All image capture and processing happens dynamically in your device's active memory and is immediately discarded after the AI description is generated.
AI Framework, Model Attribution, and Safety Compliance This application is powered by Google LiteRT (licensed under the Apache License 2.0) and utilizes the SmolVLM2 open model in accordance with the Apache License 2.0. The Application requires a one-time internet connection to download the AI model to your Device. After this initial download, inference executes completely on-device. Your captured images and generated text are never transmitted to our servers.
To ensure safety and strict policy compliance, OpticAssist employs a controlled generative AI architecture:
Controlled System Prompts: User text input is disabled. The Application automatically appends a strict, non-modifiable instruction ("Describe this image in one sentence.") to the captured image, preventing users from injecting harmful or manipulative instructions into the model.
In-App Reporting: Every interface features a persistent flag icon, allowing users to immediately report offensive, inaccurate, or misleading content directly to our support team via an automated email intent.
UI Transparency: A persistent on-screen label transparently warns users that the responses are AI-generated and should be verified.
